The title says it all. I'm not a food blogger, not an exercise expert.
I fucking love eating, and I kind of like exercise. It took me about 2 years to admit to myself and to others that the only real reason I exercise is so I can eat half a pound of meatloaf.
I'm no snob, while I love a good fancy meal, I'm just as happy eating re-heated school lunch quality mac and cheese.
Are my tastebuds gifted or cursed? I have no idea.
In the last two years I set about transforming my body and health. I was tipping the scales at 210 pounds, and being 5'6 , I looked pretty awful.
I started with a gym membership that I quickly became obsessed with using. I followed that up with a few months of a personal trainer. After that got too expensive, I got into the cult of "The new rules of lifting". I just bought a jungle gym XT and am excited to add suspension training to my program along with my new found love of jump rope and hitting the heavy bag.
In these last two years, I've lost a good amount of fat, and put on a pretty great amount of muscle mass. I'm still stocky and barrel chested, but a trimmer version.
I could be much lighter than I am (178 lbs) if I just followed the simple rule of calories in and work energy out.
but fuck that, while I'm happy to fit into clothes better, I'm more happy when I can rationalize eating 3 fat bowls of sausage and pasta.
todays meals:
pre workout- 2 bowls of multi grain cheerios, 1 cup of coffee, 1 nalgene of water.
Workout- Jungle Gym XT rows, pushups, atomic pushups, 6 minute fast warm up rowing machine, 12 minutes jump rope
post workout- two pieces of olive bread, two farm eggs, 1 whole small heirloom tomato, a few slices of hard Parmesan reggiano. water
lunch-left over pasta (one of those made with veggies kind), with italian sausage and store bought garlic and basil sauce.
post dog walk- a bowl of instant vanilla pudding.
no clue what to eat for dinner.
what will this blog be about? well, at the very least I want to track my exercisce and eating, for no real purpose but to keep track
perhaps I'll delve into more juicy topics as I get inspired.
